The club had now affiliated with the NSW Division of the Wireless Institute of Australia and become a participant in that body’s Public Risk Insurance scheme.

Affiliation involves the club having, at all times, at least five WIA members in its ranks.

In February 1991, the club meeting place moved to the Adult Education Centre, Manning Street, Tuncurry.

In August 2003 club meetings were again transferred to the studios of community station Great Lakes FM, Douglas Avenue, Tuncurry.
